About the Job Bank

The Houston ALA Job Bank is a service provided to the Houston legal community by the Houston Chapter of the Association of Legal Administrators. There is no cost to law firms or corporate legal departments that have an active member in the Chapter or to current Business Partners to list positions on the site. There is a $50 charge for all other postings. There is no charge to administrators who obtain positions through its use.

The Job Bank is intended to be a clearinghouse for management positions in law firms and corporate legal departments similar to those that qualify an individual for membership in the Association. It is not intended as a clearinghouse for clerical positions, and such listings will not be posted.

All ads placed must be written by the advertisers themselves. Advertisers are urged to submit ads which are in compliance with ADA, EEOC and Department of Labor standards. The Houston Chapter of ALA encourages minority membership in the profession and in the association. Advertisers are encouraged to read the Ad Specifications and the Disclaimer and Confidentiality Information before placing positions with the Job Bank.

New ads are posted each Friday. Deadline for receiving ad copy is the close of business on Wednesday. Subject to change without notice. You must renew your ad after 4 weeks or it will be removed from the listing. The ALA Houston Chapter will only post ads that meet ALA guidelines.

All resumes will be directed to the contact listed on the Advertising Form unless an advertiser marks the job as "confidential". If an advertiser lists the job as "confidential," resumes will be sent to the Job Bank and then forwarded to the advertiser/employer. As in all situations, the Job Bank acts as merely a clearinghouse, and resumes will be forwarded without regard to merit.

Please contact Doris Shastid, Volunteer Coordinator of the Job Bank, for questions or assistance in filling out the online Job Bank Advertising Form.
