Member Spotlight
Gabe Gonzalez is the Office Manager at Steptoe LLP and the current Business Partner Committee Chair for the Houston Chapter ALA.
Gabe's journey with Houston ALA began thanks to the encouragement of his mentor, Ginger Cavanaugh, who often spoke about the value of the chapter and invited him to attend an event as her guest. That first experience left a lasting impression, inspiring him to become a member. Soon after joining, Gabe became involved with the Business Partner Committee, where he found the perfect opportunity to build relationships, meet new members, and become more engaged with the chapter.
Today, as Chair of the Business Partner Committee, Gabe enjoys collaborating with our business partners to create fun, engaging events that bring members and business partners together. He loves finding creative ways to strengthen those relationships while ensuring every event provides meaningful opportunities to connect and network.
For Gabe, service has always been an important part of life. His passion for giving back extends well beyond Houston ALA, from mentoring youth at a juvenile detention center to volunteering in schools and supporting local animal shelters. Within the chapter, he especially appreciates the opportunity to connect with fellow legal management professionals, exchange ideas, and learn from one another.
Outside of work, Gabe enjoys spending time with his family, especially watching his nieces grow and develop their own unique personalities. He also loves traveling and exploring new hiking trails whenever he has the chance.
A fun fact about Gabe? He's an identical twin, and twins run in his family! Along with having a twin himself, Gabe also has twin nieces and twin uncles.

MONTHLY BUSINESS PARTNER SPOTLIGHT
Welcome to the Houston Chapter of the Association of Legal Administrators! The Association of Legal Administrators is an international organization with over 8,000 members representing law firms and corporate legal departments from all around the world.
The Houston Chapter is one of the oldest and largest chapters. Chartered in 1974 and incorporated in 1984, our chapter now has over 150 members. Our membership is a diverse group of legal professionals who are committed to advancing the profession of legal administration.
Our mission is to improve and cultivate the quality of management in legal service organizations through education and sharing of knowledge. We enhance the competence and professionalism of members of the legal management team and represent the legal industry to the community in a positive manner. We are committed to diversity and inclusion and strive to nurture our membership so that it reflects the rich diversity of our city.
To accomplish this mission, members of the Houston Chapter have regular opportunities to attend monthly Chapter meetings. We typically have a guest speaker at our Chapter Meetings who focuses on skill enhancements or legal industry topics. All of our educational sessions correlate with the CLM requirements and are designed to position our members with the skills and knowledge they need to contribute meaningfully to their organizations. In addition, we offer both formal and informal networking opportunities, such as chapter retreats, business partner events, and committee projects throughout the year.
To learn more about the Houston Chapter, we invite you to join us for a monthly meeting or contact a Chapter Board Member for more information. Our chapter meetings typically take place on the second Thursday of each month.
